About 100 delegates gathered from April 5-7 in Winston-Salem, NC to participate in the 85th annual meeting of the society. The convention was hosted by the Beta Iota chapter of Wake Forest University. Delegates came from as far away as Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and New York City. In addition to conducting the business of the society, including the election of new officers, delegates competed in a certamen of wits, heard papers and lectures from colleagues and Wake Forest faculty, and were entertained by scenes from Greek and Roman comedy presented by Wake students. Sister Thérèse Marie Dougherty SSND, Professor of Classical Studies at Notre Dame of Maryland University, and Dr. Robert W. Ulery, Jr., Professor of Classical Languages and Literature at Wake Forest University were honored for their contributions to the discipline and ΗΣΦ.
Complete details of the convention will be published in the next issue of Nuntius. Pictures from the convention are now available on the society’s photostream from Flickr.
